Justin Chambers, PhD, is Chief Technology Officer and Managing Partner at Intermed Labs and has been part of the organization since its founding in 2020. In his role, he oversees the medical device project portfolio from early idea evaluation and feasibility through investment decisions and go-to-market strategy, with responsibilities spanning early-stage due diligence, research and development oversight, and intellectual property strategy across device programs.
Originally from Glen Dale, West Virginia, Justin is motivated by designing and building solutions that meaningfully improve lives across patients, physicians, and clinicians. He brings deep expertise in mechanical engineering and systems development, early-stage feasibility and risk assessment, product design and scale-up, medical device manufacturing, and end-to-end product development from concept through commercialization. His approach is solution- and target-market–oriented, focused on solving complex problems with elegant, practical designs through close collaboration with the Intermed Labs team.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys motorsports, skiing, and metalworking—interests that reflect the same hands-on curiosity and precision he brings to engineering innovative medical technologies.
Ashok Aggarwal
Co-Founder & Managing Partner | Intermed Labs
Ashok Aggarwal is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Intermed Labs and joined the organization in 2020. He helped launch Intermed Labs during the COVID-19 pandemic and leads the company’s strategic direction and innovation initiatives, focusing on building the infrastructure and partnerships needed to bring life-changing healthcare solutions to patients and providers.
Originally from Morgantown, West Virginia, Ashok is driven by the opportunity to improve patient outcomes and elevate clinical care, particularly in communities across Middle America that are often overlooked. He brings an interdisciplinary background spanning biomedical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science, paired with extensive experience in business strategy, venture capital, and entrepreneurship. This combination allows him to bridge innovative ideas with practical, scalable solutions. His approach is collaborative and people-first, centered on empowering talented teams, fostering optimism, and turning complex challenges into meaningful opportunities.
Outside of work, Ashok enjoys staying active through soccer and tennis and remains deeply engaged in his community through regional technology and venture initiatives. He is passionate about mentoring young entrepreneurs and supporting local technology education. A fun fact about Ashok: in junior high school, he and a friend—now colleague—Michelle Hopkins won their school’s badminton tournament, proving that great teamwork really does stand the test of time.
